"Always put people first. Real estate isn't about closing deals — it's about building lives."— Matthew's grandfather
Real estate isn't what Matthew Neistat chose. It's what he was born into.
Growing up in Buffalo Grove, he spent weekends walking job sites with his grandfather and uncle — both developers who built everything from single-family homes to high-rises across Chicago.
His grandfather's rule: "Always put people first." His father went further — a CFO who left security to build houses himself. That leap of faith stayed with Matthew.
After Le Cordon Bleu and nearly a decade in hospitality, Matthew entered real estate in 2012.
When a competitor heard he'd won the $9.5M West Loop listing — beating every major brokerage in the city and closing it off-market in two weeks — they said: "I didn't think Matt actually had the listing."
He did. Fourteen years later he hasn't regretted the leap for a second.
"I wouldn't be where I am without the support of my wife and the love of my son. They're my heart."
